Lake Conservation Corps Program

002 Lake Conservation Corps Waukewan Crew 2011The motto of the NH LAKES Lake Conservation CorpsSM Program is “Vegetate and infiltrate to protect your lake!” Through this program, the landscape is retrofitted with lake-friendly landscaping techniques that not only beautify properties but also reduce the amount of runoff water that pollutes our lakes. The Lake Conservation Corps Program improves the health of our lakes and showcases simple and relatively inexpensive examples of how property owners can implement runoff water reduction projects on their own.

Since 2007, NH LAKES has worked with high school students, teachers, lake and homeowner association groups, landscapers, and municipal public works departments implementing the Lake Conservation Corps Program in communities throughout the state.

Projects are funded by grants or by donations from property owners and local businesses. If sufficient funding is available, students and adult crew leaders may be hired as seasonal employees and NH LAKES would provide all payroll services and insurance coverages.

If you know of a runoff problem in your community, email NH LAKES at with a description of the problem and attach photos if possible. NH LAKES may be able to work with you and your town, association, and local students to help improve the quality of your lake!
