Member Matters is a quarterly ePublication of NH LAKES designed just for our local lake conservation group members to deliver news, information, and tools for fostering lake stewardship, increasing membership, and more! You can read the inaugural issue here.
If your lake group is a member of NH LAKES, you can login and access all archived copies of Member Matters. If you do not remember your group’s login and password, please email us at email@example.com.
We have developed this program to help our local partners raise funds for their NH LAKES Lake Host Program payroll expenses and to provide individuals with an easy way to support the Lake Host program at their favorite lake.

If your association needs help with help in the area of nonprofit administration or governance, we can help. To request a consultation, please click here to fill out a request form. We have staff and experts available to assist with the following:
- Obtaining IRS 501(c)(3) Charitable Status. NH LAKES will work with you to determine if securing IRS chapter 501(c)(3) Charitable Tax-Exempt status is right for your organization. If so, we will work with you to help you submit the appropriate paperwork to apply.
- Association Governance. We have staff and resources available to help with bylaws, incorporation, and other governance questions.
- Member Services. We recognize that one of the most time-consuming and challenging tasks volunteer associations face can be communicating with and tracking your membership. NH LAKES staff has resources to help make these jobs easier.
Is your group looking for a way to foster the next generation of lake stewards in your community? If “yes,” consider bringing the Watershed Warrior Program to your next association family-friendly event. Click here to learn more!
Member groups are eligible to participate in this award-winning program. Click here for more information about participating in this program.
Member organizations are eligible to use the NH LAKES Enviroscape interactive watershed model to provide a unique educational experience in your community. NH LAKES staff will train members of your organization to successfully use this tool. If you are interested in reserving the Enviroscape for your next event, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and put “Enviroscape Request” in the subject line.
NH LAKES staff is available to consult with your group on stormwater runoff problems. If you are interested in having a member of the NH LAKES staff make suggestions on how to resolve a problem at your lake, please call us at 603.226.0299.
Is your organization a 501(c)(3) organization? Would you like NH LAKES to remind you to file your 990 or New Hampshire Annual Report? We would be happy to send you a reminder email in the last month of your fiscal year with helpful links to the forms and instructions you need to stay in good standing with the IRS and the state. Click here to fill out an application for this service.
