Ways to Give
NH LAKES is a growing community of people who are passionate about New Hampshire’s lakes. You are invited to find your place with us today—everyone has a part to play.
The most irrational thing we can do is pretend the lakes will take care of themselves.
NH LAKES is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization (TIN# 22-2668396). Read our donor privacy policy here.
Become a Lake Keeper
Lake Keepers are special people, just like you, who make automated monthly donations as their way to keep New Hampshire’s lakes clean and healthy.
Lake Keepers are NH LAKES’ secret weapon against the threats our lakes face. You can join a growing number of individuals who are alarmed by the increasing number of factors threatening to change our lakes forever with a monthly donation.
Becoming a Lake Keeper is simple, convenient, and environmentally friendly! Lake Keepers are also eligible to win prizes all year long and are automatically entered into all NH LAKES chance drawings. Lake Keepers also receive an exclusive gift!
At NH LAKES, we have a bold vision. Our vision is a New Hampshire where all our lakes are clean and healthy and caring for them is a way of life. By making a gift in your will to NH LAKES, you will become one the Visionaries helping New Hampshire to realize this bold vision.

There are a couple of tax advantageous ways you can use your IRA to care for New Hampshire’s fragile lakes. And, you don’t have to be over 70 ½ to act.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD)
If you are 70 ½ or older, you can make a Qualified Distribution to NH LAKES from your traditional or Roth IRA. It is an efficient way to support what matters most to you.
- You direct donations of up to $100,000 from your traditional or Roth IRA directly to NH LAKES. It can be a one-time or recurring gift.
- The gift goes directly to NH LAKES and will not be counted as your income.
QCDs made directly to NH LAKES can satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution or exceed it, reduce your income taxes, AND help protect the health of New Hampshire’s lakes.
Name New Hampshire’s Lakes as Your IRA Beneficiary
You can help solve the problems our lakes have in the future by naming NH LAKES as the beneficiary of your IRA. This generous act is easy. If you have questions or if you have taken step, please contact Martha Lovejoy, Director of Finance and Development at 603.226.0299 or mlovejoy@nhlakes.org.
